|tjstein||10:56 am - Knitting Tonight|
I haven't posted in a while here and just wanted to post a little reminder about Knit CLub tonight.
I will be at the Starbuck's on 39th tonight at approx 7pm and will stay for about an hour or so (depending on turnout).
So if you've been wanting to show up and haven't given us a try yet, feel free to stop by and knit for a bit. Or just have a coffee and talk about knitting. Whatever.
See you tonight!

I won't be at the Starbucks knitting tonight. But feel free to join me at the following event if you like. I'm bringing my knitting there.
The Progressive Radio Task Force is teaming with Real Democracy to bring a showing of "Left of the Dial" to Kansas City. The HBO/Cinemax documentary about Air America Radio first aired on HBO in Early 2005. This special viewing will be on August 31 at 7:00 p.m. at:
Dark Horse Tavern (Formerly known as Torre's Pizza)
4112 Pennsylvania Ave.
Kansas City, MO 64112

|tjstein||04:41 pm - Free Yarn!|
Hey Kansas City Knitters...
I've cleaned up my craft room this weekend and I'm getting rid of all my yarn for which I don't have a probable project assigned.
Now granted, there is a great deal of odds and ends here. But if you know someone who is starting out and they need some yarn to practice with or if you like to make small things. (Barbie clothes, kiddie things, etc) then you are more than welcome to it.

As always, join the Knit Club at 7pm every Wednesday night at Starbucks, 1701 W. 39th. Street.
I won't be able to join in this week...well, maybe. If I do it probably won't be until 8:30 or so. We'll see.
Have fun, everyone!

|cameellie||11:40 pm - The Twit List|
There is a Yahoo Group called The Knit List. It is a place where knitters can post questions and comments and news pertaining to knitting. It is monitored by the "List Moms" who decide what is acceptable to the Knit List. Here is the email I just received in reply a post I made today.

I'm rejecting the quoted below from you for the very obvious (to me at
least) reason that when a Knitlist mom says that a topic it closed
that's it -- no more messages about it and certainly not one that is a
direct reply to a "do not post more messages about this" message.
We're pretty cool about questions too but when we say no we mean it
and I'm pretty sure that Clara (Knitter's Review) is too.

Could that twat have been any snippier? Someone needs to tell her that keeping her vibrator in the freezer is having a negative effect on her personality.

This week we're headed to the Blue Koi at 6pm beforehand to celebrate my birthday. Please reply here if you plan to go so we have an idea on how many will be at our table. For those of you unable to go, we'll be headed down to Starbucks afterwards with knitting in tow.
See ya then!

I spit on Meetup! When I first learned about them, they seemed so cool...and now they think they're going to get people to pay? Hmph.
Anyways...Would anybody be interested in a Tuesday or Thursday evening meeting somewhere in JoCo? I have a few people that come over to my place on Thursdays, but my apartment is always messy, so if we can find more people to meet to knit with, it would be better.
